I disagree hiroguam. I listened to Bruce and his material was a commentary on social issues. Before he did a skit, he stressed to the audience that he wasn’t racist. Anyone can listen to him on You Tube and see for yourself. He was a lot more than just schock is what I am getting at.

Lenny Bruce’s material was all shock and repetition,but he was made out to be a genious and a martyr.He had guts and the signature male willingness to self-destruct.Silverman kmows where to draw the line and I agree that her material is nothing special,or else she would have become bigger a long time ago.
