You would have to be out of touch with alternative comedy in general to believe that. Some of the best comics in the world are known for their edgy humor, usually breaking some social taboo. The important part you fail to realize is that its all just a joke. McCain isn’t advocating rape or alluding that women actually enjoy it. It’s a shocking punch line, completely not what the audience is expecting to hear; It was actually clever. Everyone acts like he said “Haha raping women is so funny.” No.

That’s just it, he’s joking about it. Anyone who honestly cares about this is wasting their time. You’ve got to learn to laugh at anything; yes even the taboo subjects (hint: its why they’re funny in the first place.) There’s a time and a place, and was probably in bad taste for him to display it on television, but it still annoys me people can actually base an attack of nothing more than a simple laugh.
