I’m glad they’re in the top 10 because they deserve it. With their unique brand of comedy they’ve set a standard for surreal comedy today. However I’m not sure they should have been higher (even though I love them to death and would personally like to number one, obviously) but I think this countdown was mostly fair, only because the top 2 were spot on.

  5. JapeUK Says:

Its a bit wierd that Ed Byrne was used for a talking head when he’s doesnt seem THAT impressed by them.

Also I’m interested as to why they didn’t mention the reason they obviously came in a Top 10 voted by comedians and ‘insiders’. They basically invented a brand of comedy that dominated and inspired the 90s (Day Today, Fast Show etc.) and beyond (Boosh), yet all they say is “oh their proper random”

  6. JapeUK Says:

Izzard’s a stand-up, so no he’s not, he does his thing in a different medium so its pretty silly to try and compare

  7. bigsmart Says:

and kids now think the mighty boosh invented surreal…
