There is no conceivable way to put the sequel of the prequel in Japan.
Yes, he was in Japan for a stint of his life, but think about how it fits into the distorted story they’ve now created. Yuriko showed up in the second movie, was killed, and no backstory was given. While it would be interesting to see how they would develop her, it’s not possible because it wouldn’t make sense, even with this blatant disregard for original story.

i’m really interested to see the sequel to Wolverine Origins since it will more then likely be set in Japan. not only will we more then likely get to see silver samurai we just MIGHT get to see the Hand..maybe even Iron fist (set up the Luke Cage move) or even Shang-Chi
